Job Overview: A dynamic and rapidly growing law firm seeks a passionate and skilled Litigation Attorney to join its team in Alexandria, VA. The ideal candidate will advocate for employees facing workplace discrimination, retaliation, and harassment. Location:

  • Alexandria, VA

Duties:

  • Represent clients in MSPB and EEO proceedings.
  • Litigate cases before the EEOC and in District Courts.
  • Lead depositions and guide cases through summary judgment.
  • Apply expertise in Title VII, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, and FLSA.
  • Counsel clients through workplace disputes, offering strategic legal guidance.
  • Craft compelling demand letters to resolve cases favorably pre-litigation.
  • Manage multiple cases and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience (federal sector experience preferred but not required).
  • Expertise in labor and employment law, particularly in discrimination, retaliation, and harassment cases.
  • Virginia Bar license preferred; willingness to waive into Virginia considered. Maryland and DC Bar admissions are a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing cases.
  • Excellent client counseling skills, with the ability to guide clients through difficult situations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other attorneys and team members.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Virginia Bar (preferred). Maryland and DC Bar admissions are a plus.

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment law, particularly workplace discrimination, retaliation, and harassment.
  • Strong litigation skills and experience with depositions, summary judgment, and trial preparation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including drafting demand letters and legal documents.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with federal employment law (preferred but not required).
