A law firm located in Portland, OR, is seeking an Estate Planning Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising and assisting clients with their trust and estate planning needs, including reviewing client documents, conducting meetings, and drafting essential estate planning documents. The role involves working collaboratively with clients and other financial advisors to ensure comprehensive estate planning and administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of estate planning and tax laws, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Duties:

  • Advise and assist clients with trust and estate planning and administration.
  • Review and analyze client documents related to estate planning.
  • Conduct client meetings to discuss estate planning objectives and provide tailored advice.
  • Educate clients about tax laws, estate planning strategies, and administration procedures.
  • Draft wills, trusts, and other related estate planning documents.
  • Assist clients with trust funding and trust administration tasks.
  • Collaborate with clients, other attorneys at the firm, and the client's financial advisors to develop comprehensive estate plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions and document drafts.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant estate planning and tax laws.

Requirements:

  • License to practice law in Oregon.
  • Advanced understanding of estate planning and tax laws.
  • Strong experience in estate planning, including drafting wills and trusts.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Customer service-oriented mentality with a focus on client satisfaction.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and financial advisors.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership and good standing with the Oregon State Bar.
