While the position includes flexibility for remote work, attendance at court appearances in Monterey or the Bay Area is required.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to clients, outlining their rights and drafting necessary case-related documents.
• Represent clients at pretrial hearings and provide strategic guidance following proceedings.
• Handle court appearances, trials, motion drafting, witness interviews, and legal research.
• Analyze case outcomes using legal precedents and develop strategies accordingly.
• Oversee case workload and provide clients with a comprehensive legal analysis of potential case benefits.
• Gather evidence to strengthen clients’ cases or counter prosecution charges.
• Prepare clients for depositions and collaborate with witnesses and subject matter experts to support case strategies.

Requirements:

• 4-5 years of experience in criminal defense.
• Proficiency in managing complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate and strategize with colleagues.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed and admitted to practice law in California.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Adept at critical thinking and strategic planning.
• Outstanding negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Proficient in client communication and case management tools.
