Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Healthcare Associate Attorney to join its Healthcare & Insurance Division in Tampa, Florida. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a specialized practice in health law, providing both transactional and regulatory counsel to healthcare providers, health plans, PBMs, pharmaceutical companies, and medical device manufacturers. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of health law experience, offering an opportunity to contribute to a growing practice and develop into a future leader within the firm.

Location:

  • Tampa, FL

Duties:

  • Provide regulatory and transactional counsel to healthcare providers, health plans, PBMs, medical device manufacturers, and pharmaceutical companies.
  • Advise on matters related to health law, including compliance, regulatory issues, and transactions.
  • Handle matters involving health information technology and managed care plans.
  • Draft and review agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic recommendations based on findings.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, compliance matters, and regulatory proceedings.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and clients to develop tailored legal strategies.
  • Participate in business development efforts to grow the practice area.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in health law, either in a law firm, health-related regulatory agency, or the healthcare industry.
  • Strong regulatory and transactional experience, particularly in advising healthcare providers, health plans, PBMs, and pharmaceutical or medical device companies.
  • Experience with managed care plans is a plus.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters and provide practical solutions to clients.
  • Active license in the applicable jurisdiction or ability to waive in.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the applicable state bar (Florida or the ability to waive in).

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work collaboratively with teams.
  • Exceptional research and drafting skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks, including the healthcare industry, health plans, and PBMs.
