A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its growing team in Orland Park, IL. This full-time position offers an opportunity for a motivated attorney to work independently and handle a variety of cases in family law and personal injury. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 15 years of experience, possess excellent litigation and trial skills, and have the ability to manage a full caseload. The firm values strong community ties, and applicants with local connections will be given strong consideration.

Duties:

  • Serve as the primary point of communication for clients, witnesses, attorneys, insurance adjusters, medical providers, expert witnesses, and consultants.
  • Draft and review pleadings, discovery, motions, court orders, demand packages, and other case-related documents.
  • Supervise and review the preparation of financial affidavits and other relevant documentation in family law and divorce cases.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other case-related meetings.
  • Maintain and organize case information using the firm’s computer management database.
  • Develop, analyze, and negotiate cases at various stages, including settlement negotiations.
  • Manage all aspects of personal injury and family law cases, including case intake, litigation, and post-trial follow-up.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop effective case strategies.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 15 years of experience in litigation, with a strong background in family law and personal injury.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a full caseload, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with contested hearings, motions, trials, and litigation strategies.
  • Prior defense background is a plus.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and professionalism while managing client relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Illinois.

Skills:
