Trusts and Estates Attorney

A law firm in Richmond, VA, is seeking a Trusts and Estates Attorney. The role involves working closely with trusts and estate attorneys and taking direct responsibility for significant and complex client matters. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of experience in complex trust and estate planning, with a preference for those who can provide guidance on wealth transfer tax planning, business succession planning, and trusts & estates litigation. Strong writing credentials and excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are required. A current license to practice law in Virginia is also essential. The Trusts and Estates Attorney should be highly detail-oriented, capable of working effectively in a team, and able to assume individual responsibility for client matters involving direct client interaction.

Job Duties:

• Collaborate with trusts and estate attorneys to work on complex trust and estate planning matters.
• Take direct responsibility for significant and complex client matters, offering legal counsel and guidance.
• Provide advice on wealth transfer tax planning, business succession planning, and trusts & estates litigation.
• Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and communicate with clients to address their estate planning needs.
• Work as part of a team to manage caseloads effectively and ensure client satisfaction.
• Assume individual responsibility for client matters involving direct client interaction.
• Maintain meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and completeness of legal documents and plans.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
