Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Conduct client interviews to gather detailed case information and provide legal counsel.
  • Prepare legal briefs, motions, and other essential court documents.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research on immigration laws, regulations, and relevant legal precedents.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and ensure effective representation.
  • Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and policies relevant to removal proceedings.
  • Participate in client meetings and legal consultations.
  • Manage a high volume of cases while meeting tight deadlines and providing excellent client service.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law, with a focus on removal proceedings.
  • Admission to the Maryland State Bar or willingness to obtain admission in Maryland, Florida, or California.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated commitment to immigrant rights and legal advocacy.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active admission to the Maryland State Bar (required), or admission to other relevant states.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese (beneficial).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
