Job Overview:
An established law firm based in Akron, OH, is seeking a skilled Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join its team. This position offers a unique opportunity for hands-on experience in diverse employment cases and client advisory on labor-related issues. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation abilities and the expertise to handle various employment matters in a collaborative environment.

Duties:

  • Engage actively in employment-related cases, including wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wage/hour matters.
  • Conduct research and guide clients on issues like employee leaves, accommodations, and labor relations.
  • Draft and review essential legal documents, including employment agreements, contracts, employee handbooks, and policy manuals.
  • Participate in litigation, including drafting pleadings and motions, responding to discovery requests, and conducting depositions.
  • Conduct investigations under Title VII and Title IX requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in litigation and demonstrated experience with employment cases.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on analytical and litigation abilities.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate within teams and manage independent projects.
  • Capacity to work closely with attorneys, staff, and clients at various levels.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
