Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Labor Law Attorney to join its team. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact while working on a wide range of labor and employment matters. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of U.S. labor law principles and will be responsible for providing expert legal counsel, representation, and strategic advice to clients across various sectors.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel on a variety of labor law topics, including but not limited to:
    • Wage and hour laws (e.g., overtime, minimum wage, FLSA)
    • Discrimination and harassment (e.g., Title VII, ADA, ADEA)
    • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
    • Workers’ compensation
    • Collective bargaining
    • Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on complex labor law issues.
  • Draft, review, and prepare legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and filings.
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings such as negotiations, administrative hearings, and court trials.
  • Monitor and stay updated on changes in labor laws and regulations.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients on employment-related matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in U.S. labor law.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law principles and legal procedures.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant legal tools.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
