Associate Attorney needed for San Diego office

A law firm in San Diego, CA is seeking an Associate Attorney with a robust background in workers' compensation law. The ideal candidate will be passionate about advocating for clients and possess a strong ability to handle various legal matters related to workers' compensation. This role requires direct client interaction, legal document preparation, representation in court, and effective negotiation skills.

Duties:

• Communicate directly with clients via email and telephone, addressing their legal concerns and providing updates.
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs for submission to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
• Represent clients in court proceedings before the WCAB.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients, ensuring fair and favorable outcomes.
• Attend depositions of applicants and medical-legal evaluators, preparing questions and analyzing testimonies.
• Conduct legal research and utilize tools like LexisNexis to support case preparation and strategy.
• Review and analyze case files, medical records, and other relevant documents.
• Work independently and manage a caseload effectively while maintaining high standards of legal practice.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in workers' compensation law in California.
• Proven experience in representing clients in workers' compensation cases, including court proceedings and settlement negotiations.
• Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to secure favorable outcomes for clients.
• Proficiency in legal research tools, particularly LexisNexis.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases efficiently.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in California.
