Job Title: Workers' Compensation Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in Baltimore, MD, is actively seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney with a focus on workers' compensation defense and employer liability. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, a solid understanding of Maryland and Pennsylvania laws, and a strong foundation in insurance defense, workers' compensation, and/or personal injury law. This full-time role offers a flexible work environment with hybrid and remote options while requiring some in-office presence.

Duties:

  • Manage a high caseload of workers' compensation and employer liability cases.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft comprehensive legal documents including motions, briefs, and case summaries.
  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and other proceedings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients, providing strategic legal guidance and case updates.
  • Prioritize case management and ensure timely resolution of cases while meeting all deadlines.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, keeping them informed of case developments and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to practice law in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in workers' compensation defense law.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Maryland and Pennsylvania workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Experience with employer liability claims is a plus.
  • Licensure in additional jurisdictions (such as Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, or Washington, D.C.) is advantageous.
  • Strong academic credentials, along with excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a substantial caseload with minimal supervision.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar membership in Maryland and Pennsylvania is required.

  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
