A law firm seeks an entry-level Immigration Attorney to join its expanding team in Fort Worth, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent law school graduate or a junior attorney to build a career in immigration law. The ideal candidate will work alongside experienced attorneys, gain valuable hands-on experience, and contribute to the growth of the firm. This role offers exposure to a wide variety of immigration cases and the chance to develop in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and strategic solutions related to immigration matters.
  • Represent both detained and non-detained clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage an active caseload and ensure timely progress on all cases.
  • Conduct intake sessions with detained individuals at facilities.
  • Prepare a range of immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense.
  • Review and amend immigration applications and packets to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial agencies, and community groups on evolving immigration laws.
  • Meet with prospective clients to assess their cases and develop tailored strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings, including immigration court and USCIS interviews.
  • Draft legal briefs and other written materials for submission in various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in immigration law, or relevant academic/clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize workload effectively.
  • A strong team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and sharing insights.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with family-based petitions, EOIR cases, detained clients, humanitarian petitions, citizenship, and USCIS applications.
  • Proficiency in case management software is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Certifications:

  • Active member of the Texas State Bar.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to craft strategic legal arguments.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
