Job Overview

A law firm seeks a driven and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its personal injury practice in Topeka, KS. This role focuses on managing personal injury cases, building strong client relationships, and collaborating with a skilled legal team to provide exceptional advocacy and support. Occasional travel to nearby locations may be required.

Duties

  • Oversee personal injury cases through pre-litigation and, occasionally, litigation phases.
  • Engage in effective negotiations with insurance providers to resolve claims.
  • Establish and maintain regular, positive communication with clients to foster trust and transparency.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Ensure all legal documents meet accuracy standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide oversight and direction to non-attorney staff, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and procedures.

Requirements

  • Active Bar license in Kansas (required).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience handling personal injury cases or related legal fields such as workers’ compensation, disability law, or civil litigation.
  • Missouri Bar license (preferred).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Membership in good standing with the Kansas Bar Association.
  • Missouri Bar certification (preferred but not required).
