Civil Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to handle various civil litigation cases. The ideal candidate will have over 10+ years of experience, a strong work ethic, and excellent client service skills. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage workflow independently and participate actively in all phases of litigation.

Duties:

• Handle business litigation and other civil litigation cases, including:
  • Breach of contract claims
  • Real estate disputes
  • Real property disputes
  • Construction defect disputes
  • Employment law disputes
• Meet with clients to discuss case strategies and progress
• Draft pleadings and legal documents
• Administer and conduct depositions
• Propound and respond to discovery requests
• Conduct thorough legal research
• Write and file motions
• Make court appearances and argue motions
• Participate in trials and hearings
• Interview witnesses
• Draft and review agreements
• Negotiate settlements
• Attend and represent clients in mediations and arbitrations
• Perform other activities as requested by partners

Requirements:

• Must be a licensed California attorney
• 10+ years of experience as a licensed attorney
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Desire to make court appearances, argue motions and participate in hearings
• Courtroom experience preferred
• Knowledge of the Code of Civil Procedure

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar
