Job Overview: A respected regional law firm located in Springfield, VT is seeking a skilled Civil Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. The firm is looking for a dedicated individual who is committed to providing exceptional legal services and is licensed to practice in Vermont or is in the process of obtaining licensure.

Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation matters, from case inception through trial.
• Research legal issues and develop strategies to support client goals.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Prepare and review discovery materials.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution.
• Provide legal counsel to clients on various litigation matters.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients and external parties.
• Keep abreast of current legal trends and developments.
• Attend court hearings and trials as necessary.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in civil litigation or a related area is preferred.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to handle complex cases and manage a caseload efficiently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and a results-oriented approach.
• Current license to practice law in Vermont or the intent to become licensed.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• License to practice law in Vermont (or a clear path to obtaining licensure).
