A well-established, multi-state real estate and creditors' rights law firm is seeking a qualified Associate Attorney to support its Illinois practice. The firm handles a diverse range of matters, including foreclosure, bankruptcy, consumer collections, and more. Location:

  • Charlotte, NC

Duties:

  • Manage a high volume of creditor's rights cases
  • Handle legal tasks including discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution
  • Represent clients in court and handle appellate matters
  • Assist in business development and growth of the firm’s presence
  • Foster strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the firm’s success and reputation
  • Occasional travel for court appearances may be required

Requirements:

  • Must be a member in good standing of the Illinois State Bar
  • Newly licensed attorneys may apply, but 5+ years of litigation experience is preferred
  • Ability to manage a significant caseload in creditor's rights law
  • Familiarity with resolving issues in discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution
  • Appellate experience and knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code are preferred
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong judgment and commitment to superior client support
  • Familiarity with the Illinois legal system
  • Willingness to travel for court appearances and client meetings

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Illinois State Bar is required
  • Additional Bar licenses are a plus
