Duties

  • Draft various legal documents such as motions, briefs, and deposition transcripts for both clients and the firm.
  • Organize and maintain client and firm documents, ensuring proper electronic file management.
  • Prepare legal documents and materials required for legal proceedings, including witness testimony and deposition transcripts.
  • Participate in depositions, witness interviews, and client meetings, gathering information critical to the case.
  • Manage the preparation of civil cases for litigation, including organizing trial documents and setting up logistics for trials and depositions.
  • File court documents and handle document requests from courts, regulatory agencies, and outside counsel.
  • Provide legal advice to clients, ensuring alignment with their goals and crafting effective strategies for achieving those goals.
  • Assist with administrative and attorney duties as needed, contributing to the smooth operation of the firm.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Oregon State Bar.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in legal practice, ideally in criminal defense or personal injury law.
  • Strong research abilities, utilizing both print and digital resources.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and documentation requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
