A law firm in Riverside, CA, is seeking an Education Law Associate Attorney with a focus on conducting workplace investigations. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in public sector law or labor/employment, stellar research and writing skills, and the ability to conduct thorough investigations. Admission to the California State Bar and Title IX experience are preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough and impartial workplace investigations in accordance with legal standards and best practices.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to educational institutions on matters related to public sector law, labor/employment issues, and education law.
  • Draft legal documents, including investigation reports, memoranda, and correspondence.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings and negotiations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop case strategies and litigation plans.
  • Stay current with developments in education law, Title IX, and relevant regulations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar in good standing.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting workplace investigations, preferably in education or public sector settings.
  • Strong understanding of public sector law, labor/employment law, and Title IX regulations.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal issues clearly and persuasively.
  • Proven track record of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in education law, particularly with Title IX compliance and investigations.
  • Previous experience working with educational institutions or public sector entities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
