Litigation Associate Attorney

A well-established law firm in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a full-time Litigation Associate Attorney with a minimum of three years' experience to join its team. The associate will assist in the representation of businesses across a range of practice areas, including Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, Equipment Leasing & Finance Litigation, Commercial Creditor Bankruptcy, and Creditors’ Rights. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, an understanding of law practice management, and the desire to grow their practice with the potential for partnership.

Duties:

• Represent clients in matters related to commercial litigation, construction law, equipment leasing & finance litigation, commercial creditor bankruptcy, and creditors’ rights.
• Handle litigation cases in both federal and state courts, as well as bankruptcy courts.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, and legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic case analysis.
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court hearings and trials.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Participate in business development and marketing efforts to grow the practice.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience in one or more of the relevant practice areas.
• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
• Excellent courtroom presence and negotiation abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage a growing caseload.
• Self-motivated with a focus on developing a personal practice.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active member of the North Carolina State Bar in good standing.
• Dual licensure in North Carolina and South Carolina or Virginia is preferred but not required.

Skills:

• Proficiency in litigation procedures in federal, state, and bankruptcy courts.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Desire to work in an in-office environment, though flexible work hours are available.
