Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a mid-level or senior associate to join its Financial Services Regulatory practice in Charlotte. This position focuses on consumer financial laws and regulations, providing an excellent opportunity for professionals with relevant experience to engage in a dynamic legal environment.

Location:

  • Charlotte, NC

Duties:

  • Provide regulatory analysis and advice on consumer financial laws and regulations
  • Engage with federal and state consumer financial laws, including EFTA, FCRA, FDCPA, GLBA, MLA, SCRA, TILA, and UDAAP
  • Draft legal documents for various audiences, including in-house counsel and regulators
  • Assist with compliance program development and day-to-day compliance matters
  • Conduct compliance reviews and due diligence for financing sources and investors
  • Support the development of borrower-facing documents and compliance policies

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • Should have 3-5 years of experience.
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Experience in consumer financial laws and regulations, particularly regarding non-mortgage credit

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD)

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in relevant jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Strong writing skills with experience in drafting for diverse audiences
  • Ability to operate independently and provide sound regulatory analysis
  • Familiarity with consumer financial products, including unsecured loans, student loans, and credit cards
  • Knowledge of compliance reviews and transactional assistance
