Duties:

  • Manage patent prosecution matters, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Provide strategic counsel on patent portfolio development and management.
  • Conduct freedom-to-operate analyses, due diligence reviews, and landscape analyses.
  • Advise clients on IP strategy and protection, including patentability and infringement issues.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop comprehensive IP strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Handle IP litigation support and proceedings as needed.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one state and in good standing.
  • Admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • 3+ years of experience focusing on patent prosecution and IP strategy at a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Proven track record in managing patent portfolios and providing strategic IP counsel.
  • Strong understanding of patent law, including patentability, infringement, and licensing.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a client-focused approach.

Education and Certifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or advanced degree in computer engineering, software engineering, computer sciences, or a related field is required.
  • JD from an accredited law school.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in conducting patent searches and analyses.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively to clients and colleagues.
