A law firm seeks a driven and experienced Business Litigation Associate to join a dynamic practice group in their New York office. Duties:

• Case Management & Legal Research:
  • Manage a variety of commercial litigation cases from start to finish, ensuring all deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support litigation strategies and case development.
• Discovery & Pleadings:
  • Draft and respond to written discovery, ensuring compliance with relevant rules and timelines.
  • Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and briefs for court proceedings.
• Client Interaction & Communication:
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and advising on case strategies.
  • Engage in client meetings, offering legal insights and helping to steer case direction.
• Team Collaboration & Mentorship:
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and partners to develop case strategies and assist in complex legal tasks.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and guide in managing litigation processes.
• Professional Development & Learning:
  • Stay current on developments in business litigation and related fields, actively pursuing opportunities for professional growth and development.

Requirements:

• 2 to 6 years of experience in business litigation, including case management, legal research, and discovery.
• Strong legal writing and research skills, with experience drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• A high level of initiative, motivation, and a strong work ethic.
• Strong academic credentials and experience from a prominent law firm.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active law license in the relevant jurisdiction.
