Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated and driven immigration attorney to join its team in Ellicott City, MD. This full-time role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on courtroom experience while working closely with clients in a supportive and professional environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, conscientious, and able to work independently. Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred for effective communication with diverse clients.

Duties:

  • Attend immigration court proceedings in various locations, including Hyattsville, Baltimore, Rockville, and possibly Annandale.
  • Directly interact with clients to provide legal consultations and guidance.
  • Draft legal documents, including correspondence, motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research to support cases and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and ethical standards.

Requirements:

  • Some experience in immigration law is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently with a high degree of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Reliable transportation is required for travel to various court hearings and meetings.
  • Must be barred in any U.S. state.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Bilingual ability (English and Spanish) is highly preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Excellent communication and client management abilities.
