Litigation Associate, Insurance

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a full-time Litigation Associate for its Philadelphia office. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience handling insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. Experience in insurance defense, creditors' rights litigation, and related areas will be considered a plus. Location:

Duties:

• Handle insurance coverage and bad faith litigation matters.
• Represent insurers in cases involving commercial lines policies, personal lines policies, and umbrella/excess policies.
• Analyze coverage questions, prepare legal opinions, and litigate coverage claims through discovery and dispositive motion practice.
• Litigate insurance bad faith and extracontractual claims, including taking cases through dispositive motion practice.
• Engage in trial work when applicable (trial experience is a plus).
• Independently manage cases with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong judgment.
• Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in insurance litigation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and exercise excellent judgment.
• Experience in representing insurers in coverage and bad faith matters.
• Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, with an active bar license in good standing.
• Admission to New Jersey Bar or ability to obtain within one year.
• Admission to New York Bar is a plus but not required.
• Trial experience is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Preference given to candidates with strong academic credentials.

Certifications:

• Active Pennsylvania Bar membership in good standing.
• Active New Jersey Bar membership or ability to obtain within one year.
• New York Bar admission is a plus but not required.

Skills:

• Expertise in insurance coverage, bad faith litigation, and commercial insurance policies.
• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
• Proven ability to manage cases independently and effectively.
• Trial experience is a plus.
• Excellent judgment and communication skills.
