A law firm seeks an experienced and driven Associate Attorney to join its General Liability Practice Group in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This position involves managing litigation in the areas of Medical Malpractice, Assisted Living/Long-Term Care, and Personal Injury defense. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to client advocacy, litigation strategy, and professional excellence while contributing to a collaborative and dynamic legal team.

Duties

  • Review and analyze medical records to craft comprehensive case strategies.
  • Draft a variety of legal documents, including motions, discovery responses, and litigation materials.
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, advocating for their best interests.
  • Prepare and attend depositions, including those of fact and expert witnesses, to build strong cases.
  • Provide detailed and accurate reporting throughout litigation, from initial assessments to appellate updates.
  • Collaborate with clients, claims adjusters, and expert witnesses to formulate effective defenses.
  • Conduct court appearances, argue motions, and actively participate in trial preparation and execution.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Florida.
  • 3-10 years of experience in General Liability litigation, with a primary focus on Medical Malpractice.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex legal challenges through analytical and strategic thinking.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple cases while meeting deadlines effectively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Florida Bar.
