Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced associate attorney to join its toxic tort litigation practice in California. The firm is looking for a motivated legal professional to contribute to its team-oriented approach to litigation. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex cases across multiple jurisdictions while collaborating with seasoned attorneys in a dynamic environment.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of toxic tort litigation matters across California.

  • Conduct and defend depositions, including those of expert witnesses.

  • Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trials.

  • Draft and respond to discovery requests and pleadings.

  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, memoranda, and court filings.

  • Participate in trial preparation and provide litigation support.

  • Ensure compliance with court filing procedures, including e-filing.

  • Maintain organized case files and accurate timekeeping records.

Requirements:

  • At least two (2) years of experience in toxic tort litigation, environmental liability, or complex civil litigation.

  • Strong litigation skills, including experience handling depositions and motions.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple cases.

  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing abilities.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.

  • Strong communication and advocacy skills.

  • Ability to analyze and strategize complex legal matters.

  • Knowledge of e-filing procedures and case management systems.

  • Capable of handling high-volume litigation caseloads efficiently.
