Experienced Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Staten Island, New York, seeks an experienced litigation attorney to join its legal team. Duties:

• Draft, review, and argue motions before the court.

• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, and briefs.

• Take and defend depositions.

• Represent clients in hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials.

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff on case strategies.

• Maintain organized case files and ensure timely submission of legal documents.

Requirements:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (or admission pending).

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.

• Effective communication and advocacy skills.

• Ability to manage multiple cases with strong organizational skills.

• Experience with legal software and document management tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Google Docs, Dropbox, Westlaw/Lexis; Time Matters is a plus).

• Must possess a valid New York State Driver’s License.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New York (or pending admission).

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research databases such as Westlaw and Lexis.

• Strong drafting and litigation skills.

• Ability to work proactively and independently while thriving in a collaborative setting.
