Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Supervising Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Attorney with extensive experience managing all phases of personal injury cases from intake to settlement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional legal knowledge, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of successful case management and client representation.

Duties:

  • Manage all phases of personal injury cases from intake to settlement.
  • Conduct thorough case investigations to determine liability and damages.
  • Draft and file legal documents needed in pre-litigation.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
  • Provide exceptional client service, keeping clients informed about the progress of their cases.

Requirements:

  • Lawyer in Good Standing to practice law in the state.
  • 12+ years of personal injury experience with a focus on Pre-Litigation.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of state laws, regulations, and legal procedures regarding personal injury cases.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to effectively interpret and apply legal precedents, statutes, and regulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Proven track record of successful case management and client representation, focusing on achieving positive outcomes.
  • Experience in conducting legal research, preparing legal briefs, and providing sound legal advice to clients.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and work as part of a team, including coordinating with paralegals, support staff, and other attorneys.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admittance to the State Bar in Illinois.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff.
