Duties:

  • Represent and zealously defend tenants in all phases of unlawful detainer (eviction) proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, and prepare pleadings for eviction defense cases.
  • Argue motions and appear in court for hearings and trials.
  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients regarding their rights and available legal options.
  • Manage a fast-moving caseload, with cases typically lasting between 45-75 days.
  • Collaborate with legal staff to ensure effective case strategy and preparation.
  • Potential for involvement in plaintiff’s personal injury and real estate litigation cases.

Requirements:

  • Strong passion for tenant rights and litigation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced legal environment and manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Strong courtroom presence and willingness to gain hands-on trial experience.
  • Excellent research, writing, and negotiation skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
