Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join their team in a hybrid role. This position offers an opportunity for professional growth while handling a range of immigration cases, including court hearings, interviews, and petitions. The ideal candidate will have a background in immigration law and be dedicated to providing exceptional legal services to clients.

Location:

• New York, NY

Duties:

• Represent clients during Master Calendar and Individual hearings before the Immigration Court in New York and other jurisdictions
• Attend Adjustment of Status, Stokes, I-751, and Naturalization interviews
• Prepare and file motions, joint motions, evidence, and other correspondence with the Immigration Court and Office of the Chief Counsel
• File Notices of Appeal and Appellate briefs with the Board of Immigration Appeals
• Prepare and litigate Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) petitions before the New York Family Courts
• Supervise and collaborate with experienced paralegals
• Visit clients detained in immigration and criminal facilities

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience in Immigration Law
• Fluency in Spanish is preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently
• Experience with court hearings and legal procedures related to immigration law
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New York (or ability to waive in)
