A law firm seeks a highly experienced Senior Litigation Associate Attorney with over 7 years of practice in insurance defense and personal injury law. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigating cases involving insurance defense, particularly in the realm of personal injury claims, with a focus on high-exposure incidents such as fatalities, explosions, slip and fall accidents, and drowning.

Duties:

  • Represent clients facing complex legal challenges in insurance defense and personal injury litigation.
  • Provide comprehensive legal counsel and defense strategies to individuals, businesses, and insurance companies.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into each case, analyzing evidence and developing effective defense strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses for state court litigation proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant case law and statutes in insurance defense and personal injury matters.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations as required.
  • Collaborate with partners on case strategy and client communication.
  • Prepare for and participate in trial proceedings as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
  • Stay updated with changes in insurance law, personal injury statutes, and precedents.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • 7+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense and personal injury.
  • Litigation experience in Texas state courts, focusing on insurance defense and personal injury matters.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
  • Legal research and analysis skills specific to insurance defense and personal injury law.
  • Trial preparation and courtroom experience.
  • Case management and organizational abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Valid license to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
  • Legal research and analysis skills specific to insurance defense and personal injury law.
  • Trial preparation and courtroom experience.
  • Case management and organizational abilities.
