A law firm seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Criminal Defense Intake Attorney to join its team in Los Angeles, CA. This role offers the opportunity to assist potential and existing clients by evaluating cases, suggesting legal strategies, and contributing to the firm’s mission of protecting client rights. Duties

  • Monitor the firm's case management system to review and assess new cases.
  • Evaluate intake documents and client-provided information to identify viable criminal defense cases.
  • Recommend legal strategies and services tailored to potential clients' needs.
  • Respond to legal inquiries and explain legal procedures to potential and current clients.
  • Communicate with the sales team to provide insights and feedback regarding potential clients.
  • Supervise intake paralegals and virtual assistants to ensure seamless case intake operations.
  • Engage with existing clients to explore additional legal services outside their current agreements.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1–5 years of experience in criminal defense law.
    • Familiarity with intake processes or post-conviction relief is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to analyze and vet cases effectively and efficiently.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
    • Proven track record of managing caseloads and advancing legal cases.
    • Experience using case management software is preferred.
    • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (preferred but not required).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • An active member of the California State Bar in good standing.
