Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced and ambitious Trial Attorney to join its civil defense litigation team. Location:

  • St. Louis, MO

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and respond to discovery requests.
  • Prepare and respond to motions and legal memoranda.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Make court appearances and represent clients in trials.
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients, attorneys, and witnesses.
  • Perform legal research and analysis.
  • Conduct medical analysis and review for relevant case information.
  • Write detailed case analyses and client reports.
  • Attend trials as a second chair to senior attorneys.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in civil litigation.
  • Admission to the Missouri Bar (required).
  • Admission to the Illinois Bar (preferred but not required).
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to create well-reasoned legal arguments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a complex caseload.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, with a strong sense of ownership in task execution.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Certifications:

  • Missouri Bar Admission (required)
  • Illinois Bar Admission (preferred)

Skills:

  • Expertise in civil litigation, including depositions, discovery, and court appearances.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in case management and legal documentation.
