This role involves working on USCIS and USCIS-related immigration cases, conducting consultations, and collaborating with attorneys and paralegals to ensure clients receive effective legal representation. The ideal candidate will excel in managing a diverse caseload and developing strategic solutions for clients facing immigration challenges.

Duties

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Manage a varied workload of immigration cases, ensuring timely and effective handling.
  • Prepare a range of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and refine immigration applications/packets, making necessary adjustments.
  • Liaise with law enforcement and community organizations regarding immigration law changes.
  • Conduct consultations with potential clients to devise strategic immigration plans.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for USCIS interviews, ensuring they are well-prepared.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits in cases.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration matters.
  • Coordinate legal strategies with team members for comprehensive case management.
  • Stay updated on immigration legislative changes and develop solutions for complex legal issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the firm's partners.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active Bar License in good standing from any U.S. state or territory (including DC, Puerto Rico).
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar License.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Ability to develop strategic legal solutions.
