Job Overview:
A respected national law firm is seeking a Commercial Finance Associate to join its Business Practice Group in the Dallas, Texas office. This position is ideal for a mid-level attorney with 2–5 years of experience representing both lenders and borrowers in a variety of commercial finance transactions, including real estate finance. The role offers an opportunity to work with a sophisticated client base on complex transactions, with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Location:

  • Dallas, TX

Duties:

  • Represent financial institutions, private lenders, and borrowers in commercial finance matters

  • Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, collateral documents, and related financing documentation

  • Advise clients on loan structuring, regulatory compliance, and transaction risk management

  • Manage transactions from inception through closing in coordination with clients and counterparties

  • Conduct due diligence on real estate and business entities in finance transactions

  • Collaborate with attorneys in related practice areas, including real estate, corporate, and tax

  • Provide legal support on amendments, workouts, and enforcement matters

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of experience in commercial finance law

  • Prior experience with real estate finance transactions preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex deal flow and client expectations

  • Strong academic credentials and legal judgment

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active member of the Texas State Bar, or eligibility to obtain admission

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating financial and real estate documentation

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities

  • Analytical mindset with practical problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and high-volume transaction work

  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed
