Senior Family Law Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected family law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Family Law Attorney to handle high-stakes family law cases involving divorce, custody, support, and property division. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely, with occasional travel required for local trials in the Sacramento area. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in family law litigation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to mentor junior attorneys and paralegals.

Duties:

• Lead and manage family law cases involving divorce, custody, child support, alimony, and property division.

• Provide strategic counsel and strong representation in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials (both virtual and in-person).

• Collaborate with a legal team to manage cases efficiently, utilizing advanced technology to streamline processes.

• Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, agreements, and financial reports.

• Perform detailed financial analyses and prepare Dissomaster calculations and Propertizer reports.

• Oversee discovery processes and lead trial preparation, organizing key dates, facts, and exhibits.

• Mentor and support the development of junior attorneys and paralegals.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of family law litigation experience, with a proven track record in divorce, custody, support, and property division cases.

• Active member of the California State Bar in good standing.

• Strong experience in drafting legal documents, managing discovery, and conducting financial analyses.

• Proven ability to represent clients effectively in hearings and trials.

• Leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and collaborate within a team environment.

• Comfortable with using virtual tools for client communications and remote hearings.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• California State Bar License (Required)

• Certified Family Law Specialist certification (Preferred)
