Job Overview:

An established, multi-state law firm specializing in real estate and creditors' rights is seeking a qualified Associate Attorney to support its Illinois practice. This firm represents institutional and private lenders and is involved in areas including foreclosure, bankruptcy, and consumer collections. The position offers the opportunity to work with a large volume of cases while gaining valuable experience in a variety of legal matters. Location:

  • Tampa, FL

Duties:

  • Manage a significant caseload in the area of creditors' rights and related litigation
  • Handle discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution for clients
  • Represent clients in court, including appellate work and case strategy
  • Assist in the firm’s business development efforts
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Collaborate with colleagues to grow the firm’s reputation and presence
  • Travel to court and client meetings as required

Requirements:

  • Member in good standing of the Illinois State Bar
  • Newly licensed attorneys may apply; however, 5+ years of litigation experience is preferred
  • Ability to handle a high volume of creditor's rights cases
  • Experience with discovery practices, depositions, and conflict resolution
  • Appellate experience and knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code preferred
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Commitment to providing superior client support and exercising sound judgment
  • Court appearances and travel required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Illinois State Bar is required
  • Additional Bar licenses are a plus
