Job Overview:
A premier, multi-state law firm with a strong reputation in civil litigation and municipal law is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join its rapidly expanding Clinton Township office. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and contribute to the growth of the firm's municipal law and litigation practice. The ideal candidate will be motivated, highly organized, and capable of handling cases from inception through trial.

Location:

  • Clinton Township, Michigan

Duties:

  • Handle civil litigation and municipal law cases, including insurance defense and general litigation
  • Manage cases from inception to trial, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and writing
  • Prepare and manage discovery, including depositions
  • Represent clients in court hearings and trials
  • Provide high-quality client service and effective legal counsel
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to handle complex legal matters
  • Participate in team meetings and assist with firm initiatives

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in civil litigation and/or municipal law
  • Michigan Bar admission in good standing
  • Proven experience in managing cases through all stages of litigation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases and deadlines
  • High energy, strong work ethic, and a willingness to take on new challenges
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and electronic discovery platforms

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Excellent academic credentials

Certifications:

  • Active Michigan Bar membership in good standing

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and creative thinking capabilities
