Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Estate and Tax Attorney to provide legal counsel and services related to estate planning, asset planning, elder law, and benefits eligibility planning. This role will involve working independently as well as collaborating with the firm's leadership and staff to deliver high-quality legal work and maintain a strong reputation within the community. The attorney will also play an important role in fostering professional relationships and ensuring client satisfaction through personalized legal services.

Location:

  • Edmonds, Washington

Duties:

  • Establish and maintain professional and community relationships that generate referrals to the firm
  • Identify client needs and present tailored legal solutions to engage clients
  • Provide quality customer service to clients and their families
  • Specialize in estate planning, asset planning, elder law, and benefits eligibility planning
  • Attend all required court hearings
  • Collaborate with client financial and insurance professionals
  • Ensure timely handling of client communications (calls, emails, correspondence)
  • Actively participate in firm meetings and report progress weekly
  • Complete tasks assigned by supervisors within the allocated time frame
  • Attend training and events to stay updated on legal trends
  • Adhere to the firm’s processes for delivering legal services to clients
  • Travel to remote locations or client homes as required
  • Manage and oversee all assigned client matters and assist on other matters as needed
  • Supervise staff members (Probate and Trust Administration Coordinator, Medicaid Coordinator, Drafting Coordinator, and Funding Coordinator) to ensure service completion
  • Uphold the firm's core values and high standards

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
  • Active Washington State Bar License
  • Experience in estate planning, tax law, or elder law
  • Strong administrative, technical, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in managing files, drafting legal documents, and overseeing legal processes
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, financial professionals, and firm leadership
  • Willingness to travel to client homes or remote locations as needed

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

Certifications:

  • Active Washington State Bar License
