Job Overview:
A reputable law firm in Richmond, VA, specializing in a wide range of legal services, seeks an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join its team. This role offers a collaborative environment, providing the opportunity for attorneys to practice under a fee-sharing arrangement. The firm offers comprehensive support including staff assistance, state bar dues, CLE allowances, and marketing tools, empowering attorneys to build and grow a successful practice.

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel and advice in estate planning matters.
  • Draft, review, and revise wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents.
  • Develop strategies to minimize estate taxes and ensure clients' wishes are honored.
  • Represent clients in estate and trust administration and dispute resolution.
  • Advise clients on legal issues surrounding asset protection, probate, and other estate-related matters.
  • Manage a caseload of estate planning matters and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and work to grow a personal book of business.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience as an attorney, preferably in estate planning or related areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and business development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar membership in good standing.

Skills:

  • Expertise in estate planning, probate law, and trust administration.
  • Ability to navigate complex legal matters and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
