A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking an Asset Finance and Securitization Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The role requires prior work in structured finance and securitization, focusing on Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS), including QM and non-QM mortgage loans, reverse mortgage loans, HELOCs, Reperforming Loans (RPLs), and/or consumer Asset Backed Securities (ABS) secured by consumer loans, marketplace loans, auto loans, credit card receivables, and equipment loans. Additional experience in related asset classes such as solar loans, mineral rights, royalties, single-family rental properties, timeshares, and trade receivables is beneficial. The candidate should demonstrate an interest in continuous learning and building relationships within a collaborative team environment, with prior experience in a large law firm setting.

 

Duties:

  • Manage structured finance and securitization transactions.
  • Specialize in Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS) and/or consumer Asset Backed Securities (ABS).
  • Handle transactions involving various asset classes, including mortgage loans, consumer loans, marketplace loans, and others.
  • Assist with transactions related to solar loans, mineral rights, royalties, single-family rental properties, timeshares, and trade receivables.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys and professionals.
  • Conduct legal research and due diligence.
  • Draft and review transactional documents and agreements.
  • Communicate with clients and relevant parties involved in transactions.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in asset finance and securitization.
  • Previous work in structured finance and securitization, with a focus on RMBS and/or ABS preferred.
  • Familiarity with various asset classes and transaction structures.
  • Interest in continuous learning and team collaboration.
  • Prior experience in a large law firm environment.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the relevant state bar(s).
