Casualty Attorney

A law firm in New York City seeks a Casualty Attorney with 2-7 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will manage cases involving New York Labor Law, construction litigation, and premises liability. This role requires strong case management skills, including drafting motions and briefs, handling pleadings, and conducting depositions. Admission to the New York Bar is mandatory.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload involving casualty litigation matters, with a focus on New York Labor Law, construction litigation, and premises liability.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Prepare for and conduct depositions of witnesses and experts.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on case developments and strategic advice.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff on case strategy and trial preparation.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• 2-7 years of litigation experience, preferably in casualty law, New York Labor Law, construction litigation, or premises liability.
• Strong case management skills, with experience handling all aspects of litigation from inception to resolution.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
