A law firm located in Greenville, SC, is currently seeking an Associate Attorney with a focus on bankruptcy matters. The ideal candidate should possess 1+ years of bankruptcy and/or creditor’s rights experience, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the Bankruptcy Code.

 

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will play a pivotal role in managing contested or litigated bankruptcy matters. This includes drafting and reviewing pleadings, responding to objections and motions, attending hearings, and providing timely responses to general firm-wide bankruptcy inquiries. Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume workload are essential for success in this position.

 

Duties:

  • Manage contested or litigated bankruptcy matters
  • Draft and review all pleadings and claims filed
  • Respond to objections and motions
  • Attend scheduled hearings
  • Address general firm-wide bankruptcy inquiries
  • Execute document preparation and review
  • Regularly communicate with clients
  • Monitor electronic filings (ECFs)

 

Requirements:

  • JD Law degree
  • Admission to practice law in South Carolina preferred
  • 1+ years of bankruptcy and/or creditor’s rights experience
  • Experience representing creditors and/or debtors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases
  • Familiarity with CM/ECF filing system
  • Knowledge of bankruptcy rules/laws and general creditor rights laws

 

Education & Certifications:

  • JD Law degree
  • License to practice law in South Carolina preferred
  • Admitted to practice law in South Carolina and Federal Districts in South Carolina
  • Admissions in other jurisdictions considered a strong plus

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
