Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Houston, Texas, is seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience in family law. The ideal candidate will also be prepared to handle probate, guardianship, and estate planning matters. Duties:

  • Manage and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for attorneys, paralegals, and staff
  • Analyze legal conflicts, advise clients on appropriate solutions, and negotiate on their behalf
  • Communicate and collaborate with other attorneys and paralegals to efficiently resolve cases
  • Oversee cases from start to finish, including drafting legal documents, client communications, hearings, trials, and mediations
  • Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
  • Prepare correspondence, pleadings, motions, affidavits, briefs, and settlement agreements
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and colleagues to ensure case progress and client satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in family law
  • Willingness to handle probate, guardianship, and estate planning matters
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage cases independently from start to finish
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar, in good standing

Skills:

  • Expertise in family law, probate, and estate planning
