Environmental Law Associate

A law firm seeks an associate attorney to join its environmental law practice in Albany, NY. This position involves guiding clients through the complexities of environmental regulations, managing compliance matters, and addressing legal issues related to contaminated properties. Duties:

• Advise clients on environmental regulatory compliance and permitting processes.
• Handle matters involving the investigation, remediation, and litigation of contaminated properties.
• Participate in cases related to CERCLA and RCRA litigation.
• Provide counsel on environmental risk transfer agreements.
• Collaborate with clients on energy-related legal and regulatory concerns.
• Develop practical, innovative solutions to address complex legal challenges.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of focused experience in environmental law.
• Knowledge of CERCLA/RCRA litigation or contaminated property remediation is preferred.
• Familiarity with environmental risk transfer agreements is advantageous.
• Prior experience in energy or regulatory law is a plus.
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and dynamic team environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with eligibility to practice in New York preferred.
