Job Overview: A reputable law firm, located in Sausalito, CA, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial and Complex Litigation Associate Attorney. This role focuses on wage and hour litigation, including defense work in class actions, and offers an opportunity to handle complex legal challenges in a dynamic environment. Duties:

  • Defend wage and hour litigation cases, with a focus on class actions.
  • Navigate and apply knowledge of both California and federal wage and hour laws, including overtime regulations, meal, and rest periods.
  • Independently manage written discovery in wage and hour litigation matters.
  • Prepare and take part in depositions and handle motions related to discovery issues.
  • Develop comprehensive discovery plans and oversee their execution.
  • Draft and oppose motions, particularly those for class certification in wage and hour cases.
  • Interface directly with clients, offering sound legal advice and strategic insights.
  • Maintain clear communication and provide consistent follow-through on cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in wage and hour defense litigation, particularly class actions.
  • Solid understanding of California and federal wage and hour laws, including overtime and meal/rest period laws.
  • Proven experience handling discovery processes, from drafting to responding with limited oversight.
  • Strong background in deposition procedures and managing motions related to discovery issues.
  • Skilled in drafting motions, including opposing class certification motions in wage and hour disputes.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with clients and deliver legal and strategic guidance professionally.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
