Personal Injury Associate Attorney

Job Overview
A growing civil litigation firm is seeking a Remote Associate Attorney to handle a diverse caseload of plaintiff-side personal injury and school/government liability cases. The ideal candidate will have experience with depositions, court appearances, and litigation, and will be provided with mentorship and professional development opportunities. Trial participation is expected, with a focus on transitioning into that aspect of the practice over time.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of personal injury matters in litigation
• Draft and file legal documents, including complaints
• Draft meet and confer letters to opposing counsel regarding discovery disputes
• Prepare clients for depositions and hearings
• Take and defend depositions throughout litigation
• Prepare and respond to motions, including dispositive motions
• Attend court appearances as needed
• Negotiate settlements for personal injury cases
• Oversee and direct investigations related to assigned litigation matters
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on trial preparation and case strategy
• Participate in focus groups, trial preparation, and attorney skill development programs

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in personal injury law
• Strong background in personal injury litigation, including pre-litigation case management and discovery
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active and good standing with the California State Bar
• Workers' Compensation experience is a plus
• Strong written discovery skills
• Experience taking and defending depositions
