A law firm in Wilmington, DE, is seeking an Intellectual Property Patent Agent who will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or materials science. The ideal candidate should possess a degree in one of these fields and be a registered patent agent. They must be collaborative, motivated, and possess excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and professional recommendations.

 

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to chemical compounds, chemical processes, engines, transmissions, drivetrains, suspensions, control systems, consumer products, or medical devices.
  • Conduct patentability searches and prior art analysis.
  • Collaborate with inventors, attorneys, and clients to develop patent strategies.
  • Assist in patent portfolio management and maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or materials science.
  • Current registration as a patent agent.
