A law firm based in St. Louis is actively seeking a qualified Biotech Patent Attorney with 2-6 years of experience. The ideal candidate should be registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and possess a solid educational background in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields. The position requires a candidate with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and/or Doctorate degree in the specified disciplines, along with a minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough patentability and freedom-to-operate searches in the biotech sector.
  • Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications adhering to USPTO regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with scientific teams and inventors to comprehend and evaluate inventions.
  • Offer technical expertise in biotechnology to support the development of a robust patent portfolio.
  • Analyze and respond to office actions, interacting effectively with patent examiners.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in biotech and intellectual property law.

 

Requirements:

  • Registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields.
  • Master’s degree in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields.
  • Doctorate in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields.

 

Experience:

  • 2-6 years of overall experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience.

 

Certifications:

Registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in conducting comprehensive patent searches.
