Litigation Attorney Personal Injury & Defense

Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced and dedicated Litigation Attorney to join a team in Albany, New York. This position offers an opportunity to work on personal injury defense cases, providing valuable legal counsel, conducting in-depth legal research, and engaging in civil litigation processes from beginning to end. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator with a strong background in litigation and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Duties:

• Manage civil litigation cases from initiation through resolution in collaboration with a team of attorneys and paralegals.
• Conduct legal research and draft key documents, including discovery requests, motions, and other legal filings.
• Prepare and present comprehensive evaluations of cases, focusing on liability, damages, and legal strategy.
• Attend and participate in court conferences, depositions, and other legal proceedings, both virtually and in person.
• Lead negotiations and facilitate settlements when appropriate.
• Offer expert legal guidance to clients and internal team members, ensuring strategic decisions are well-informed.

Requirements:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• Proven experience in personal injury law and/or defense litigation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• New York State Bar license (federal admission is a plus but not required).

Skills:

• Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
• Experience drafting legal documents, including discovery and motions.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to handle depositions.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
